I saw in this guy's thread that you have to remove the factory receiver hitch to install shackles........

TRUE or NOT TRUE for RCSB

it's in the way, you'll have to move out of the way, afterwards you are done can reinstall it, it keeps the bolts from sliding out, that's all

I Didn't have to remove mine. on the passanger side I had to grind the bolt head 3/32 , only the part that looks like a washer. then it slipped right out. no probs on drivers side. whole job was about an hour..

I have an aftermarket hitch and had to remove it to do the install.

Didn't remove mine, but I did have to loosen it so it dropped down far enough to clear the bolts.

Had to drop the hitch on mine to get the bolts out.
