Default Any competent trany builders in the easter part of the country ?

I know there is performabuilt. I am running one of their 60's now and has been trouble free for over 3 years. However I picked up a blown up 80( lost 1-R) and every place I call basically tells me it is easier and about as cheap to just buy one done. I am looking for a competent builder for my current one, will buy the needed parts to upgrade it, steels, shift kit ect. Just can't see 2k Plus for a rebuild. I really want to turn the boost up

I know one in the southeast. He built the 4l60 in Hardcore's 9 second GTO. He drives it to every track he runs . They just refreshed it after 1,000 passes and all the miles to run every time he get a chance. The 3-4 clutch pac was only worn 50%. Tranny was still running fine.

He just rebuilt mine with the same parts as Hardcore for under $1600. He is in Middleburg Fl. with over 30 years experience.

When it comes time for me to have an 80E built, i might try Cahall Performance Trans in DE. I know they build a mean 60E. If i weren't wanting a trans-brake, i'd prob try building one myself...

George lives literally 20 mins from me. Has done a few of my buddies trucks, but I do not think he is big into the 80's atleast didn't sound like it last time I talked to him, but I am glad you mentioned him, maybe I will dig his number up and talk to him. Good call man. And yes people are insane on a rebuild. Considering I can buy all BW high engergy clutches, and transgo shift kit for under 400 buks, if I got crazy and opted for a better input shaft, sprag maybe another 600. Can't see 1000 plus for labor. Maybe I am crazy but I don't think so.
