Default Any tips to get shackle bolt out?

I'm having a hell of a time getting this bottom shackle bolt out. Are there any tips or tricks you have? I'm not sure if it's just rusted on there or what. I tried jacking the axle up to maybe take some stress off the bolt but that didnt do anything.

Ive hit on it pretty good on the long end, I guess I'll keep trying that. I didn't go too apeshit on it or anything.

The nut head is also being a little bitch, rounding off and whatnot. It doesn't have much depth to it so it's hard to get a grip. My 21 doesnt fit perfectly snug, but the 20 is too small. I guess when you're dealing with bolts this old this stuff tends to show up.

make sure you have the shock unbolted and hanging before you take that bolt out or you will get a nice dent on the bottom side of the bed when it comes loose, maybe even take the spring loose from the rear end so there isnt any binding. take as much loose as you can before you take that bolt out!

It shouldn't be hard at all to get out. I've done 10+ shackle installs and never had a stuck bolt. Make sure there is ZERO load on the leaf springs

Its being a ****. I got it to twist a teeny bit and then it just stops. What's the optimal amount to have the axle jacked up? I'm thinking just a tiny amount of force on the pumpkin. I'm abandoning the work today, I need to go buy a breaker bar.

the jack should be under the pumpkin, but with so little force that it doesn't life it up more than an inch. Unbolt both your shocks so there is no load on the suspension.

never read about unbolting the shocks.

Should this bolt just be sliding out, or does it twist out all the way?

Also, with you being in texas, i don't think you'd have as much, if any rust. 9 years of bad salty winters is rough on the underside.
