Any tips or tricks for removing leaf spring bushings?

I used a torch for the inner part then a sawz-all to cut out the outer most layer of steel that's pressed in the leaf. I did that so I made sure I didn't cut into my leaf. Made a single cut across the got a flat head and tapped under the edge and bent up the edge and then it tapped right out.

I use a ball joint press to remove the bushing(unless I have the entire leaf spring out, then I use a hydraulic press). The steel sleeve will stay in. Use an air-chisel to remove the steel sleeve.

Works fast & easy. Screw using a hammer & punch....

Your local O'Reillys probably will rent you a ball joint press for cheap if you don't have one.

This^^^ i left my springs on the truck and it worked great..

how can you not have success with a good press?? that's the easiest/cleanest/safest way.

i use a press, but when you dont have the right tool for the job caveman style always gets the job done. it just isnt as pretty

I took mine to monroe. 20 bucks and 10 minutes later, all done. I started with the beat to **** idea.... Much much much better to press out old, press in new.

So where can u buy leaf spring bushings? My front ones are noisy as fruk and its driving me insane!
