anyone with a 4wd 4l80 swap chime in.....
After a little contemplating, I'm thinking I'd like to kepp my Big *** SUV ( see sig) for a long time. I should hit 480 rw here in the next few weeks(fingers crossed) but I'm gonna shop a 6.0 liter for it in the next few months and hopefully bump up above the 5000 rw mark. My thoughts are since my truck had the option of coming with a 4L80 from the factory, how hard is my swap gonna be since I have 4wd? I know I can get a harness from Speartech, and tuning it will be okay, but what about the hard parts? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.....

It shows a list for the trucks, but not SUV's. I wonder if it's the same as the extended cab trucks.
I can get a tranny for next to nothing, and maybe I can buy their kit without the trans. Is there anything internal that would be different about the trans?...

Mine with the trans cost over four grand. I'm not sure about what is different about the suv, you might give sean a call at speed and see if they have done any suv kits.

The conversion parts that I bought, and their prices (from SE web site):
Cable bracket - 5.99
Conversion wiring harness - 160.99
Crank spacer and bolts - 76.99
Crossmember - 279.00
Front driveline - 369.99
Rear driveline - 349.99
Dip stick tube - 8.99
Transfer case gear - 179.99
Lines and fittings - 99.99
Flexplate - 194.99
Total conversion kit cost - 1726.91, plus shipping
I bought the tranny elsewhere, and I will do my own programming.
Something I just thought of - do I really need both the flexplate and the crank spacer?

The only differences I can think of off the top of my head would be the rear driveline length and possibly the crossmember - other than that, it should all be the same, unless there is something I am forgetting.
