Default Anyone blown up an FLP Level 5?

Just like the title says, has anyone who has spent the cash for the Level 5 FLP 4L65E transmission toasted it yet? I'm just doing some pre-planning here, making sure I have everything lined up for when I take the plunge and go FI.

I think TurboBerserker has gone through 2 of them, but Chuck repaired them under warranty, and used that knowledge and experience to make the FLP Level 5 stronger.

But, I heard that Chuck left FLP and started his own gig, so I can't tell you for sure what's going on now.

I broke the front pump in one

The reason it broke was not the tranny though
It ended up being the torque converter was too short
and wasnt engaged in the pump but about 1/16"

chuck bent over backwards and helped me get it all straightened out with the converter people

great CS/ great tranny
I highly recommend him

Chuck now runs FLT - Finish Line Transmission. I would expect the same excellent work and support out of Chuck. He certainly took good care of me.

Just finished writing an article about FLT's level 5. Look for it in the Jan issue of GMHTP.

Sounds good man. I am a subscriber and have been following the buildup of your truck. Looks great so far.

I had a question for you. There was an article about all of the suspension upgrades you did that seems to be very similar to what Parish has done plus some sway bars. In that article there was a small writeup about your take on the handling in everyday street driving. Your review seems to be unfavorable. Was that your final conclusion after you had all parts installed? Do you not like the way it rides?

I have about 5,000 miles on a FLT level 5 right now and I have towed cross country, autocrossed, and drag raced with it. So far nothing but a positive experience.
I really wish I had more space in the magazine to devote to the day I spent at FLT, I learned a hell of a lot that day, and hopefully I can pass some of that on to you guys.

As far as the suspension article, there were points in the build when I was not happy with the ride characteristics, but the final result was a very balanced nuetral handling package. I am extremely happy with how it works right now. It's a great daily driver, a fair autocrosser, and I can still tow or go off road.
