Anyone know what a superduty tranny is
the gm web site and brochures list a superduty tranny for the
6.0l vortecmax package even in 2wd in the new generation trucks with the 1500 series chassis.
which transmission would this be? surely not an 80 series...

LINK DOESN'T WORK, BUILD ONE AND SELECT VORTECMAX PACKAGE AND IT
SHOW TRANNY
thanx in advance

If you look closely at those brochures you'll find that it lists an HD and an SD transmission which I assume means Heavy Duty and Super Duty respectively. I don't know the difference and I'm willing to bet the majority of salesmen at your local dealership couldn't tell you. I think they use the generic terms like HD and SD because most customers don't have any idea what a T56 or a 4L60 is and they're probably correct in that belief. Best auto trans is the 6L80 unless you like to shift and then it's the T56. Try going into your local Chevy dealership and telling the salesman you want a T56 in your new truck to see what response you get.

I love the 70e, shifts nice, goes great with the LQ9.
