Default Attn lowered gmt900's, caution

my 08 4wd xcab has Mcgaugh's 2 " spindles and 2 inch rear shackles.
it has black rhino "charge" 20 wheels and heavy Michelins, 285/50/20 A/T 2's

it has 10k miles and the upper balljoints are completely trashed,
bad enough I am changing them tomorrow and not driving the truck until then.

the truck has never been offroad and is driven sensibly. i attribute alot of this issue to'the weight of the wheel/tire combo but lowered suspension might have something to do with it.
The upper ball joint studs need to be trimmed to install the mcgaugh spindles.

I have VMax with the same lowering parts but I went further with a 3" rear drop. I have more miles that you do and haven't noticed anything. I'll have to check it out now though.

I've seen LOTS of GMT900s with balljoint and tierod issues due to heavy wheels/tires... The lifted 4WD guys are the worst I think.

I've heard of similar issues. Usually with lift kits. Im not too concerned, the only thing I had happen on my 00 was the upper control arm on the right side loosened up one day

wonder if its due to the MCG spindles not allowing balljoints to seat properly

JB, I recall some mention of that issue, but I just installed new upper control arm/balljoints
and they did seat correctly, maybe my spindles are revised from the origional.

I put MOOG parts on it as they have a lifetime warranty, but they look identical to the oe parts. No sense taking it to the dealer for warranty, they would just laugh when they see the ball joint stems trimmed off.

I beleive it's a tire/wheel weight issue rather than a spindle issue but I could be wrong.

I am not going to do anything else for the short term as I will trade this truck for a 2010
6.2 went they become available.

I also had the exact same truck in an 07 2wd that I put belltech spindles on, I sold it to a friend so I will get him to bring it to the my shop for checking.
It has gm 20" wheels and general uhp's on it, we'll see how his is holding up
