AWD (NVG 149) 80E Front Driveshaft
Just wondering who has done the swap that has the NVG-149 T-Case, in my search for finding the correct front driveshaft I have found some interesting things. I have seen most people end up using the GM 15182094 front drive shaft. What I am trying to find out is if anyone has used this driveshaft on a AWD 80 Swap? The AWD front driveshaft is actually a bit shorter then the standard Auto trac one. Based on what I am finding it looks like that 094 shaft will still work but based on measurements it is actually not quite long enough for a standard Auto Trac setup. Naturally there is enough length to the splines that it should still be fine but I am just looking to clarify who has actually done this on a AWD and what front shaft you used. I know AndyC3 has done it and I am waiting to hear back from him.

Roger, I have compared measurements from numerous 2500's and found there are at least 4 different length shafts. I know when we did the swap on TimZ's truck he ended up with the 094 shaft which is also smaller diameter. Seems the most common shaft is actually from a Allison. The lengths very by a couple inches between 2500's. My front shaft measures at 28.5" CL on UJoint, the 094 shaft is 30.5" Was just at my buddies shop and measured another and it was 31" out of a 2500hd 80E. Basically I only need about a 30.2 shaft so I think the 094 will work.

Im interested in this topic, as i have a 2010 silverado 1/2ton 4x4 with the auto mode. And after the 6" lift, my front shaft is a little too short and causing vibes in auto and 4hi. Would love to find a factory replacement.
