Pretty sure you need to remove the TCCM, switch, and harnesses. The NVG149 doesn't need any of that stuff.

Send a PM to Midnight, he did this swap on his truck. He may even have a thread if you search.

Oh I've searched! How the heck do you think I figured out how to do ANYTHING on my truck? I sure as hell didn't figure it out on my own. LOL

I'll spend the next few days searching until I find an answer. You guys haven't let me down yet!

Maybe I can just pull the TCCM fuse?

i know on the older trucks (88-98) you can just run a switch to the front axle actuator and it will engage it when you want through the switch..wont solve your service 4x4 message though lol

Unplug the tccm so you dont get the check 4x4 light.

Or you could leave everything hooked up and take out the 4x4 fuse, then power cycle the battery leads. Truck will wake up and think it's a 2wd.

Not on the trucks I've had my hands on. Still gets a Service 4x4 message.

I've gotten it to work on 03-07classic.

I just saw the OP truck is a 2000, it's probably different if it doesn't work. Mine is getting the 4x4 removed so I will find out when it comes back!
