axle rap?
when i get in slippery situations and both tires start spinning i hear this slapping noise, it is kind of scarry, my old truck never did it. i love fishtailing on wet streets but it does it alot, is this just my overload leafs rapping up and "slapping " the other springs? does this cause any damage?

GM actually makes little rubber wedges that are driven in between the leaf springs of teh truck. The spring wrap you are describing isnt harming anything, but it can develop into wheelhop as the tire searches fro traction.

can this be fixed with trac bars, also G80 question, do they have a tendency to not unlock? tonight i was at a stop light and when i went i spun the tires due to the wet road and i just let them spin till they got traction then as i med the turn and truc vibrated a little, then i went strait for 20 feet and turned again and same thing then stait and another turn, then i put it in neutral and tuned again and it hasn't doen it again, every time it vibrated it hadn't gotten over 10mph since i spun them.

The G80 is designed to not lock up after 20 mph and to work like an open differential. It has a pawl that engages due to centrifugal force and keeps the differential from locking up after 20 mph. If you lock it up by spinning the tires below 20 mph it will likely stay locked up until you back the pressure off of it. If you enter a corner with the differential locked it will likely stay locked until you start to exit the corner due to the pressure held through the differential by the different speeds the wheels are travelling through the corner.

hanks fro clearing that up Mort, I thought they would release after 20 mph, but from what you are saying, they will stay engaged until the load is reelased.
i wonder why some of them diengage while doing burnouts at teh dragstrip in the burnout boxes?? Maybe just worn units.
