Bad wobble WTF

Bad wobble WTF
My truck has recently started to have a bad wobble around 65 and up. The whole truck shakes. The steering wheel wobbles a touch too. Can this be caused by bad cv axles? They started popping bad at wot. Then I strapped the front end and it popes one last good time and the abs engaged (stabilitrack) and the wheel tugged hard to the right and they haven't piped really since. But it acts really strange when wot now. I tried to shake them but they don't wiggle. But that was with weight on the truck. Rear drive shaft looks good.

I was JUST going to post the same thing.
My Wifes 05' Tahoe Z71 has a strange vibration in the front end also.( 87,000 miles)
Ive tried both sets of summer / winter wheels/tires, all lugs are tight, still vibration.
Not sure what it is, i might try to take front driveshaft off and drive it to see it that helps.
It starts to get noticeable at about 55 mph to about 75 mph, letting of the throttle the vibration lessens.
Please help us Tahoe guys out ! LOL

Yeah 70-75 it's real bad. I have to work this weekend but I may try a few things. I have a good bit of grease coming out of my cv boots. Those damn replacement clamps suck. There is no way to get them tight as stock without breaking them.

Either one of u guys lowered ur truck? Check the pinion angle if so...mine did that for a few diff reasons...worn out front end parts (various...look for grease from under boots), front T-case dry, bad alignment/balance, and pinion angle. Right now I get a bad shake after a hard launch and pretty sure its my T-case, but I'll try a steering stabiliser first. R/

A bad CV joint could definitely give you a vibration in the front end if the joints are binding and not spinning smoothly. I'd check the more common stuff such as wheel balance first and take it from there
That's a good thought Tim, but I think that you may only isolate the driveshaft itself by doing so as the front axles will still be attached at the hubs, even though they are isolated from the driveline, but it's still worth a shot, especially considering how easy it is to do.
For both of you guys, don't try removing the front half shafts and driving that way as your front wheels may fall off! The axle and it's nut hold the front hubs together. If you want to isolate the front axles, you'll need something like old axle ends to install into the hubs and tighten the nuts to keep the front bearing/hub assemblies together

I found the solution to my problem and hope this helps Turbhoe..
I raised the vehicle , spun the front wheels, checked them for any movement or noise from a possible bad wheel bearing, all was good.
Took front driveshaft out and went for a ride. Still had bad vibration.
My friend Mark suggested my tires may be the culprit.
They are new nitto terra grapplers 265-70-17, i went in town to the local tire shop to have them checked for balance.
They were all out of balance, These are my winter tires for the wife, the place that mounted them did a poor balnce job.
I had them rebalnced and rotated and NO MORE VIBRATION!!!!
As my friend stated, since the vibration gets worse as vehicle speed increases it is a Rotational problem ( drive line, wheel bearings, tires,) He said often people think its a bad tie rod or ball joint which is not the case.
Hope its something simple like this man!!!!

i will go ahead and have them all balanced, i'm sure thats a huge part of my problem. rotors and pads are all new. and it doesn't wobble while on the brakes. i'm sure my cv's have to be almost all out of grease. its all over the place under there.
can a bad balance cause your brakes to dust alot? i have ceramics but man do they dust bad!! never did before. i may go back to delco brakes.
