Default Beefing up Awd front diff

Need some of your expertise guys. Have a 2006 Sierra Denali Awd and I plan on doing a 4l80 swap and going with a turbo. That being said I know the factory front diff does not hold well. What can I do to either keep the Awd or switch to rwd that will handle 700-800hp? I’m not knowledgeable enough to know what these shops have been telling me. I’ve been told that a 9.25 front end would work from a 4x4 On 3/4 ton.

Who said the front diff doesnt hold up well? Keep the CVs flat to slightly negative and you will be just fine. I have been doing 800hp+ boosted launches with the stock front diff for years without any issues. The 9.25" is a ton of work to make fit, and not needed in your case.

Well that’s good to know. I guess they just want to take my monies. I appreciate the advice.

I’ve heard of very few issues with the AWD front diff. Mine sees a lot of abuse and works great.

wow! Well not to bombard OPs thread here, but do you have any clue why I have eaten through three of them under about 50 miles? I’m tired of pulling this thing apart. It’s an 2006 Sierra Denali with 4.10s (stock motor). I’m eventually boosting it, but I’m switching to RWD if I can’t get this front diff to hold up to just moving it down the street. Something must be way off.

What do you mean eaten through them? What breaks? We need details.

Having 3 go bad in under 50 miles means something is catastrophically wrong.

Edit: Now I see your other post. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...cement-560642/
