I'm curious to hear about the method you used to install your spindles, since you "know what you are doing" and everyone else here does not. And of course since there are so many different ways to bolt spindles on, I can see how you could sprinkle a little of your magic on top of your set and not lose turning radius, while the rest of us without your magic did.

But seriously...let's hear it.

THanks 006rcsb, I'm kinda over- committed right now with a set of 16" steels with winter tires and a set of 16" aluminum with a summer set right now..............

Took the words right out of my mouth

The turning radius increased but not enough to make me want to try anything different. It's there and it's that but it's fine.

dont you also have a regular cab? I think its just less noticable on the short wheelbase of the rcsb platform.

Sounded like that came off wrong to a few people. Didn't mean it that way. Anyway you need to find out what is limiting your turning radius. Then clearance according. It will be different for different drops. I'm at 6" drop in the front and it was really bad before I clearanced. I clearanced enough to get it back to stock turning radius. You should get 1 3/4 turns out of your steering wheel from center, left and right. For those that have drop spindles that is a good starting point to see how far you are off. Enough rambling here's some pics of what I clearanced. I clearanced the spindle slightly and LCA stops to make it mate to the spindle perfectly. I shaved some of the head off the bolts, so I ddn't have to shave as much on the spindle.
Before

After

Hope that helps.

I did the mcgaughy's kit for 16" wheels on my truck but since added some 20" wheels Ball joints did not want to come out of the LCA's ended up using a blue tip wrench to get them out and just replaced them

there are no spindles for a 4x4 truck that will fit 16 inch wheels. look them up if you dont believe me, i have because i wouldnt mind running a 16, but 17's are a minimum, and even those require the threads on the lower ball joint to be trimmed! im sure that if camarossls12001 used the 16 inch spindles he isnt 4wd.
