Default The best 2/4 drop kit?

Who uses what? Where did you get it? Pros? Cons?

I will be getting a 2/4 drop, but I am new to trucks, so give me some advice!

2000 Sierra SC/SB

Thanks!

DJM lower control arms and hanger/shackle kit.

I went with control arms because I did not want to have to deal with the reduced turning radius associated with spindles. Not sure if the spindles today are any different than they were 5 years agp when I bought my lowering kit. The con to lower control arms in that you do get some bump steer. DJM has a fix to flip the tie rods, but I never thought it was necessary. After all, I am rolling on 35 series tires. I would avoid coil springs if I were you when lowering the front. I have heard they are bouncy. Both spindles and control arms will align without any problems.

In the rear, most hangers/shackles are going to be the same. You are also going to need to get a shorter set of shocks for the rear. Most kits dont have them.

So avoid the Eibach type kits that lower with mainly springs all around, and get something with front spindles or control arms. Makes sense. I thought maybe just changing springs seemed too easy.

DJM's kit is about $800 by my calculations???

McGaughy's Kit 11003 is $499.95 from Summit

Any others?

Actually, let me look in my pile of new/used parts. I think I have some lowering stuff for my old blue truck(2000 RCSB) that never got used.

from my experience, all the kits are about the same... ride quality depends on what shocks you put with it....

So what shocks then? Looks like the Notro brand is popular. I looked through the "Stylin Concepts" web page and their prices seem as good as anyone.

I think the DJM kit is around $399 without shocks. You do not need to to change the front shocks, just the rear. I have KYB's in the front and Rancho's in the rear.
