Default best 20" tire over 30" tall

Looking to replace my near bald 275/55R20 tires and want to try to figure what tire to go with that will give me the best dry road traction that is not under 30" tall and yet not so tall that they will rub on my near stock suspension with just a 2" shackle in the back. Open to all suggestions.

I have 275/55-20 hankook venous 2 RH06 great traction and wear in all conditions I have faced. I also really like the nitto 420s which is availible in about a dozen sizes.

These look pretty good. I'd probably get the 295/50R20. I've been looking for tires with a bad UTQG rating thinking that the lower the number, the softer the rubber, the better the grip. These have the worst tread wear rating of any tire of any 20" street tire that I've seen that is that tall.

anybody got anything else

I have the Nexxen Roadian HP and The GoodYear Eagle LS2.

Both in 275 55/ R20

Same Rim style, Same basic chassis, Only difference is the engine.

I like the GoodYear Eagle LS2 much better than the Nexxen Roadian HP.

The Nexxen seems to be a little stiffer in ride quality.

I haven't used either long enough to determine overall long term use. Less than 5k on both sets.

On my old truck I had the Nexxen Roadian in a 265 70/ R17. I have at least 35- 40K miles and they have lasted but seem to have a balance issue. Never took it in to have them checked though...

For a non winter rain only climate, i would recommend the nitto 420s. They are the best tire that is still reasonably "cheap" imo when considering actual performance and grip.. My only complaint was they can be a little noisy with the pattern, but i mostly contribute that to the width of my sets which were 305's all 4.. I have coopers now and like them, but they see snow and wanted more of a general year round tire.
Also had a set of toyo stII i liked, but i think they were more than the nittos with no real gains.

Honestly I was leaning towards some 305/50R20 nitto 420s beore this thread. Walmart seems to have pretty good pricing on them which Discount tire said they could beat. That being said those general uhp 295/50R20's look pretty good too. Walmart sells those also so I'm sure I could get Discount tire to beat the price on those as well.

Like I said I'm looking strictly for dry road traction and don't really care about anything else. I'd love to get a Drag radial if one was available but since there isn't I'm looking for the next best option.

nitto makes a 20" DR, but it wont be 30" tall..lol 305/50-20s will have pretty good side bulge on a 9" wheel, i had those and a set of 305/40-22s in the 420s, good tire and discount tire does price match good and seem to carry them in stock in most normal sizes.
