I have heard many many many horror stories about him. From as far back as when his shop was in Florida. Also watch some of his advertisement videos. I could have saved a butt load of money and shipping by buying trans from madddog. Not a chance. I bought one from FLT. Service and communication made me a life long fan. Finish Line Transmissions | Performance Transmissions | Torque Converters | Transmission Parts | Transmission Service all the way.

Default Still hitting rev limiter at WOT

Well the tranny came in earlier this week and I finished putting it in a couple nights ago, and it drove/shifted perfect, with the exception of it still hitting the rev limiter at WOT just before it shifts. I would like to think its just a tuning issue. Becauase I know that there is a delay from shift command to the actual shift taking place. But what doesn`t make sense is that it has been shifting fine for the year that i`ve owned it, including drag racing last fall. I haven`t changed the gear ratio or done anything major like that to the truck, since then.

Any ideas?

Who is tuning it? Command the shift earlier as the 80e's are inherently a bit slow from commanded to actual shift completion.

Looks like I`ll be tuning it. I bought HP tuners last year and chickened out and sold it before I learned to use it. So I just ordered HP again yesterday and will start trying to learn how to use it when it comes in this week.
