Default best all arond gear for a 4l80e ??

Well been having the 80 e for a while now and the 3.42 gears are starting to make it feel like a bit of a slug .. really thinking of gear swap ... i have option of either 3.90 or 4.10 .. i do quite a bit of highway driving but **** it ... right now i can do a 40 roll like a ************ .. and shift out at about 60ish .. 2-3 iz 105 mph .. with a 4.10 what would my rolls be like ...

"All around" I'd say 4.10s. For n/a performance...4.56 or 4.88

depends on your tire size. I sit around 2500 rpm @ 70 with 30.5" tires

I say 4.10s but your rolls will suffer a lot with them

yes i read that thread last night i understand your situation but you have to put into presprective that i have a different transmission with different gearing . a big stall and a cam/ported intake/tb ect weighs about 600 pounds less... so theres much different circumstances between my truck and yours

the truck is really really mushy under 30
