I think from the discussions we've had here recently, the eaton LSD is theoretically a little better overall than the trutrac. However, both are proven and the trutrac is a little more popular (and cheaper too). I really like my trutrac, it's dead silent and performs flawlessly and I've yet to see anyone on here complain about theirs.

ive had my Eaton LSD in for roughly 50k miles and its had everything from 28x10" slicks to 32x12.5" boggers and i dont play nice with it. i changed the fluid when i put the Girdle on and thats it.

It sounds the rear axle might not be square in your truck. Take some measurements and see. With a good posi, locker, torsen diff etc, even tire pressure and traction devices, it should launch pretty straight. If the truck has been lowered, chances are its not that square in the truck anymore.
