The real reason Is because he takes it in the rear...

He figured if he was gonna get hit hard, better take it in the *** end...

We had the same issue on a CC 1500 truck. It wore the pads prematurely and would lock the rear under hard braking conditions.

Would it be safer just to go ahead and take the factory proportioning valve out with the booster?

Not sure exactly what that is but you should not need it. Appears to have a sensor on it. Its possible on the Tahoe's they felt they needed to lower the pressure because of the weight difference and the shorter wheel base so they may have added a proportioning valve or a residual pressure valve.

If it's free and they are not going to charge extra, Then take it. If you feel your Brakes are not working properly the try adding it.

Thats the proportioning valve/ pressure sensor, the sensor will turn the red brake light on if the pressure is too low in the system... Tahoes seem to be the only platform they actually put that on...

Willhorne22, if youre doing this much brake work, might i suggest going ahead and getting the line kit from gm if you haven't already... Especially if your lines are rusted......

I'm going to be doing the hydro boost swap and (Russell 695760 Stainless Steel Brake Hose) install at the same time and then be done with the brakes hopefully.
