I'm running castrol dex 6. With the 40% off at advance auto it was about 50 bucks to fill my new 60e and converter.

It really is much better than dex III. Better viscosity in low and hot temps.

How did you get 40% off at Advance?

Amsoil atf is what I've always used, because it's what we've always had in the shop.

My dad put 210k on his 60e running this. About 10k of that was pulling a 10,000 lb boat, another 10k was with the 8

Sold the truck to a local guy and at a quarter million miles, same trans.

I run Valvoline dex 6, and replace it about every 8-9 months, with a new filter.

.....and a rebuild.

Hmm so mine is probably due for a flush and new fluid and filter since it hasn't been done since I bought the truck and it's seen a lot of abuse.

Hopefully all mine needs is fluid and filter and not a rebuild though

Advance always has some sort of promo code for online sales. I buy online and drive to the store and pick it up.

My old 60e had 280K on it with the factory fluid still in the system. Fluid was black for about 60K miles. I have seen the tranny temp gauge pegged several times. But it died on a easy 1-2 shift. Or well the sunshell broke.

Some just last longer than others, the fluid as long as a quality DEx is used matters very little.

I would be scared of most DEX III though as the GM license has expired and they can claim anything is DEX III now.

my dads truck has 210k miles on it. had one transmission flush and filter change at 175k miles. but since he bought it, all he does is drive it to church and goes to town in it every now and again.

its Dockrockers old Extended cab 2004 Silverado.
