Default Best Rotor sloted or drilled and slottled ???

2010 Silverado 4x4 CC 1500

Ready for new front brakes ........just my dailey driver and tow my car trailer planning to use Hawk LTS pads but confused on what type of rotor to get ......slotted only or slotted and crossdrilled ........ I always thought crossdrilled were not the best for a DD as they very aggreesive and hard on pads and can plug up on a daily driver .............thinking of slotted only

Anybody got any experience one way or another

Neither. We use thermoquiets and centric rotors and have good, long lasting, noise free performance. Slotted stock sized rotors are a gimic that give you less surface are for the pad to engage.

Don't know if they are "the best" but I have been pleased with the EBC USR slotted rotors on my truck and Tahoe, both with Hawk LTS pads.

My truck came wuth drilled and slotted rotors. Now i just have slotted and couldn't tell you the difference. When i changed then the holes were all plugged not to mention the possibility of cracks between the outer hole and the edge i wouldn't recommend them.

Right now im using power slot rotors and hawk lts pads.

Thanks guys confirms my thoughts on drilled rotors for a DD .....will look for quality rotors with or with out slots, Hawk makes some minimal shallow slotted rotors for trucks will check them out

Whichever you think looks better...... That's pretty much all they're for anyways. Modern technology on brake pads have overcome the issue of "gassing out." The only thing I can recommend, is if you get a drilled rotor to get a high quality one. Not an eBay knock off. I personally like the look of slotted only better.
