Default Best setup?

I just purchased a t56 last wkd and wanted to get everything together before the install. I have a 02 reg cab silverado that had a M5. I wanted to try to get the shifter as close as I could to the original position. Thus I wanted to ask for any input on the necessary parts or setups to achieve this. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. I was told that McLeod makes adapter shifter for older model cars and the one for a T56 in a 67 Camaro is the most forward mounting one.
