Look at Black X's results from going from an ss3600 to an ss4000. You aren't going to lose much city mileage between yanks because they are so tight that you can almost drive them like stock.
I went from a ss3200 to a ss3600 and lost no gas mileage in town.
Oh and FWIW Black X has an s10.

to explain a few more plans in detail and answer a few questions. the truck should weigh in at around 3300-3500lbs, it will have basic creature comforts but no huge systems or anything, just heat, AC and a simple radio. its truly going to be my daily, it will sometime next year see spray. but that will come after a new rear, full suspension, which is going to be coil overs all around with a linked rear setup. but the project is getting done a little at a time as play money comes in. after all of the driveline, and suspension is beefed up then I might get crazy and build a forged 370 that will take a stupid amount of spray, but thats not till after my next deployment.
