Best Tire for 3.42s?
#22
Just FYI I went from a 30.1 to a 29" tire on my truck and gained more top end which you are wanting for roll races or interstate races.
Went from a 255/70/16 to a 255/65/16 tire. Our setups are way different I know, but just wanted to add some info for others to read possibly.
Example before on my truck with the 255/70/16 tire I could floor it at 70-75mph on the interstate and it would kick you back in the seat every time, but if you tried to floor it above 75mph it had not so much *** and would not kick you back in the seat.
Now with the new 255/65/16 I notice much better top end, I can floor it at 80-85mph and it will kick you back in your seat unlike the old tires which would not at those speeds.
so just 1" can make a difference. "That's what she said too btw"
I have the shitty 3.42 gears too as well.

Yeah try to find a happy medium, you don't want to get too small of a tire either.
