I did that the first couple of times then discovered I can get it from the top with a box end wrench. You cant see it but you can feel it.

For The Top Bellhousing Bolt I Used My 1/2 Impact With An 15mm Semi Deep Swivel On A 18inch Ext. Gets Em All Everytime. Ive Taken Mine In/out Seven Times. I Can Do It In Less Than An Hour By Myself If I Dont Have Broken Exhaust Studs, lol.

You need to pull the tranny back or out. You can get to the TC bolts from the starter hole, then you will need to turn the flexplate to get to all three bolts.

drop the starter, turn the flywheel with a screwdriver through the inspection hole until you can get to the bolt. get a buddy to hold the flywheel while you break the bolts loose., get all three bolts loose then break the bell housing loose and your all free... its pretty simple when you've done it so many damn times just like the other guys said. I've only had trannys in and out about 9 times???

you could do the fly wheel idea or just do what i always do and put a big 1/2 ratchet on the crank pulley and use that with one hand and use your air ratchet with a allen head to take the three tc bolts out. peice of cake.

A heat gun on the weatherpak connectors for a few seconds will soften the goo and allow the connectors to come apart without breaking. That shift selector switch is expensive!! Don't ask me how I know.

it can be done by one person, right? I watched the tech that did the first rebuild pull it out and it seemed really simple and not much different from other transmissions. Seemed almost as easy as yanking the C4 from my F-100 except this has some wires.

Am I wrong?

Yeah, just be careful. That converter is a heavy SOB and can fall out very easily. IF you can get the converter bolts out without stripping them, do yourself a favor and put some ARP converter bolts in. They are the 3 best little bolts I've ever bought! Especially after 3 days of trying to get one converter bolt out, after stripping it.

Totally disagree. It's much easier to just remove the 3 small bolts than risk breaking it. Take the 3 bolts out with an end wrench and set the whole thing aside.
