Default Which Bilstein 5100 shocks do I need??

I have an 02 Yukon that I want to replace my shocks...I been researching on here and found that the Bilstein 5100HD are a great replacement shock n wanted to go that route...anybody know what part# they are

I'm at stock height...whole truck is pretty much stock except for engine was upgraded to LQ9 and converted to AWD but my suspension needs much attention since its all the original equipment

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks everyone

That is two different lines of shock you are referring to OP. Do you want 5100's, or the HD series? 5100's are adjustable for suspension height changes and have a nice zinc finish on them to keep them looking good. The HD's are similar shocks but are fixed for stock height and have paint on them. Price difference is not a lot. I bought 5100's for my stock height 04, and just got them today from the courier. I have KYB Monomaxes on my 05 and want to compare.

I personally think Rancho shocks are complete junk from experience but some people seem to like them, lol.

i have the Blistein HD shocks on the front of my truck, and I think they ride a little rough. They are a good shock but you feel every little bump in the road. Definitely going to be looking for something with a softer ride..

As I previously said Bilstein does not make a 5100 HD shock....... If your buddies are a zinc anodized finish they are 5100's. If his shocks are yellow with blue boots they are the HD series. It's either the 5100 series or HD series, not a combination of both. Then there is the 5160's with a remote resovoir which you do not need, lol. There is no such thing as 5100 HD shock, period.

Pick whichever one you think suits your purpose better. There is only one part number of either series for your truck. Just look it up.
