Default Brake pad choices

Hey guys. I have a 2002 Silverado 2500HD 4WD. I'm trying to pick out a set of brake pads for it, and I was just curious if any of you guys had tried anything different. I tow with the truck, but not very often, mostly it's just my daily driver in any weather.

Summit has a lot of choices for pads http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...115+4294907043 and I was thinking of going with the Hawk LTS's or the Ceramic pads.

If any of you have tried any and like one more than the other or anything else, please post up.

Do a google search for Praise Dyno...I've got their cryogenically treated pads and slotted rotors front and rear. Definite improvement over stock, no noise, and very little dust build up as compared to most performance pads.

budhayes3...how's the rotor life with those pads? I already have a pair of brand new normal rotors here, so I'd expect them to not last as long (or very long at all) with something like those pads that are meant for a cryo treated rotor.

unless they're needed for some ultra-performance chit, i buy the softest pad out there. yeah more dust, but way easier on the rotors and no noise.

OK, I guess I wasn't very clear...I've already decided I want to go with Hawk...there's a LOT of different Hawk pads to choose from. I'm only doing the front brakes, my rears look fine (lot of pad left caliper moves cleanly and the dial indicator says the rotors are flat and I don't see any cracks on them).

I think I'll go with the ceramic pads. Dirty30, have you used those pads yourself? I think the EBC Kevlar's would be way overkill in a daily driven mostly stock truck.
