Well I broke my tranny this week. I was stalling it against the convertor and heard a clunk then I had no reverse, no nuetral and park was grinding. I swapped the tranny out this weekend and it's going back to Performabuilt this week. The crappy thing is I am out of warrenty by 2 months so I have to pay $950 to get it fixed. Hopefully they can make it stronger or I will just break it again.

They guarantee their level 3 for 800rwhp in a car so I was hoping that it would hold in my truck at 600. If or when it breaks again I will have to go 80E but I was trying to stay away from all of the change over stuff.

I haven't looked at it all too much, but I'm thinking when my 60e pops, 80e is the best way to go. It is cheapr in the long run. I don't think there is any 60e that will hold 600rwhp. FLT lvl5 holds up to 500rwhp I think is what they rate it at. With your turbo LQ4 I think usiing a 60e may be futile!

I have decided to do the 80 swap next spring and am gathering parts, but even going though the trany myself with new stock clutches and seals, TG shift kit and using a remaned stock Converter, I'm still gona have $1000 in the trany (paid $350 for it but needs gone though), $600-700 in drive shafts (needs about 2" shorter in rear and 2" longer for front), probably another 500+ in convention parts, (input gear for t-case, flexplate, cooler line extensions, lower bell housing ect.) plus a LOT of labor. And if I wanted to get a good converter, that's almost another $1000. Not as easy or cheap as all these guys make it sound who are 2wd.

That sucks man,
Everyone likes to talk about the 80 swap, but there are all 2wd guys and don't realize how much more of a PITA it is in a 4wd. Luckily when my build 60 broke a couple moths ago, it was just a twisted off output shaft and I was able to fix it my self.
