Broke level 3 Performabuilt 60E

With the 65E's running well into the 11's nowdays it's worth struggling through the growing pains. It's not like the 80E's don't break either. They are much stronger, but can still break. I'm interested in finding out what broke in yours also. I'm guessing the reaction carrier. How many miles did you put on it?

Ive allways hated doing things twice Do the 80 swap and dont look back the gearing is so much better then the 60 it isnt funny. I now have more miles on my 80 then I did 2 60s and I have way more H/P now.

I heard back from Performabuilt today about my trans. They said that I didn't actually break anything with power but I just had some bad luck. I don't know if I have this right but they said the seal on the front input drum came apart and started leaking fluid away from the front clutch packs. The clutches actually welded them self together from the friction.

i wont ever go thru the headaches of the 4l60E stuff, i wish i would have gone with the 80E in the first place.. would have saved me alot of money and headaches.

I haven't looked at it all too much, but I'm thinking when my 60e pops, 80e is the best way to go. It is cheapr in the long run. I don't think there is any 60e that will hold 600rwhp. FLT lvl5 holds up to 500rwhp I think is what they rate it at. With your turbo LQ4 I think usiing a 60e may be futile!
