I agree ^^^ trans being low on fluid could have cause the torque converter or clutches to slip.

That's the transfer case adapter. Its pretty common for them to crack but its an easy fix.

I was trying to pull the transmission, I think I'm going to just put a housing on and try it before I pull it, have an extension housing on the way. But I have a stall converter on the way as well, so I'm eventually going to have to pull the transmission anyway, and I'm having problems pulling it, the top stud and cooler lines specifically. I searched the forum, and I tried coming in from the back with several extensions, and I couldn't get it to budge that way, so I've started unbolting my intake, also the cooler lines are so damn tight that I couldn't get them to budge in the limited room I had.

Spray whatever bolts you can't break loose with PB blaster. Kroil is better, but that is mail order only I believe. Let it soak in overnight or at least a few hours, then soak them again before you try loosening them.

4' 3/8" to 1/2" transmission extension works wonders
13mm and 15mm are your nut and stud sizes. for the bellhousing. you can go from the top by pulling the intake but seriously a pita for just 2-3 bolts. the cooler lines comes loose when you take the E style clip out of the fitting and pull them out. i use a very small flat head to do this or you can spend the big bucks on a tool that rolls it out the way for you

I wouldn't put the new converter in till I made sure the trans was ok. Not unless your getting a new trans too.

I know, I'm going to swap the housing, and bolt everything back up, and put some miles on it first just to make sure, but then I'm going to run into this problem again when I go to pull it for the stall, so I figured I'd ask the questions now instead of wait until I'm stuck again.

Did you pull your cross member to let the transmission sag down? You should be able to reach the top bolts with a long extension over the top of the trans.

I can reach it no problem, I just can't get it loose. All of the other ones came out pretty easily.
