It's not fair to compare an Avalanche to a pickup. Their weight is more like a Tahoe and their weight distribution is like a Suburban.
You've got the power (AND TORQUE) to do a burnout well into second gear. You might consider installing a line-lock on the rear brake line backwards. I am betting the brakes are holding it. The bias is different on the SUV chassis than the pickups - another reason these things don't compare.

hey way2much01,
I have an 08 5.3 ext cad 2wd with factory 20's and a 342 gear. With only a tune my truck wouldn't spin the tires no matter what I did. So I called Dave up at Yank and ordered a SSTB 4000 converter. Now my truck absolutely eats the tires off from a dead stop with no power braking, just stab it and it blows the tires off all the way through first gear. YOU need a bigger stall to get your rpm's up where your truck is making more power. This will fix your burnout problem.

The supercharger might fix the problem too...

I know an SUV chassis is alot different than a truck. The big giant patches of rubber where from my Van, not my Ram. The Ram lights them up easily, despite being a quad cab. The van will do a brakestand all day long though with its torquey TPI Vortec 350. You can make anything do a burnout as long as you can make enough torque and put it to the tires.
2. They prove nothing about the torque output of the vehicle. My old 82 tercel could do that too. I doubt it made 60 ft-lbs.
3. I'm surprised you didn't reply with one of your pathetic vids of the speedo.
4. Thanks for showing that pic.
