Default burnt tranny fluid

I took my SS into the tranny shop today to have the shift kit/billet servo's installed today. i got a call a couple hours later from the tranny guy who advised me not to install the shift kit because they believe something is wrong, or going wrong, with my tranny. The fluid has a burnt smell to it and is darker than it should be, but still has a red tint to it. Other than my tranny slipping once really bad about a month ago, i havn't had any problems with it. I decided to not install the shift kit at this time and just had the tranny shop do a flush/fluid/filter change. I then took some of the bad fluid and the old filter to the dealership. They disagreed completly with the tranny shop and said the fluid had no burnt odor what so ever, and the darker fluid color was normal for a tranny with 20K miles on it. Other than the slipping it did a month or so ago, it has been running fine. The dealer obviously dosn't want to rebuild it, because to them some dirty non burnt fluid is not enough warrant to disasemble the tranny and rebuild it. Now i don't know what to do. For now i'm just going to drive it for a couple thousand miles and see what happens. I've always watched my tranny temp gauge and it has never really gotten too hot. Not throwing any codes either. Anybody have any ideas or advice?

Your tranny might be done my friend. When it slips just once that is usually the point where things go down hill. But its time to get a built unit. On a blown 6.0 AWD chassis, pushing all that weight the stock 65 just wont hold.

Radix with a stock tranny is just asking for it.Had you only installed a vette servo at the time of the radix you probably would have never slipped it.Throw away that billet servo.Would your GM dealer warrenty it if they thought there was a problem at this time? They do know the radix is on there right? Did you go to the dealer when it slipped and have it documented at the time?

the tranny slipped prior to the radix being installed, and yes i did take it to the dealer and told them, but since i could not recreate the problem, i got no documentation on the record of it happening. i have a corvette 2nd gear and a billet 4th gear servos. yes, i believe my dealer will warranty if the tranny gave out now, but until it goes, nothing they can do.
