Default c notch Q?

ive decided on a 4/6 using control arms in front but my last question is everyone in my last thread posted they installed there own c notch. id love to do this myself but does it not involve cutting the frame or did they just have themeans of doing this them selves. when i lookunder my bed there seems to be alot of clutter around the axle area which makes it appear to be a bit of work to cut that area and one other Q if i do my own flip kit and cntrl arm install does it require air tools or just some breaker bars and time thanks for the help

P.S. pics of a c notch installed would be greatly appretiated

thos pic is test fitting the notch

nothing to it really, round the edges of your notch in the frame so they dont crack overtime

the bumpstop just unbolts nothing to that either, the only thing i remember having to move might have been the rear brake hose??? someone remind me if that necessary

mine might just be different being a longbed tho.

would you happen to have a pic of your frame before the c-notch install?

sorry that i never got back to you.

is that a mcguaghy's c-notch? if so, would you happen to still have the install instructions and the frame template?

i was wondering about the frame because i was told by a shop that my mcguaghy's notch wouldn't work on my truck. my notch looks exactly like yours does. i am not sure how to explain what they told me but they said something about how the bottom of the notch is angled and how my frame isn't. with that part of the notch being angled, it would cause my frame to crack.

i ran into the same problem you are, i didnt get instructions and there is no template.

i just moved it down about 3/8" and it fit

i dunno how you could get one of these frames to crack they ar elike butter you can bend them with a 12" pair of pliers
