Is a C-Notch recommended with a 2/4 drop?

I would notch it. I notched mine when I had a 4" drop. IMO you cannot have enough wheel travel. I built mine from scratch, boxed and welded the frame. Welding can make the frame more prone to cracking if the welds are perpendicular to the frame rail.

Good to see you got the Mcgaughy's notch, it well help the ride tremendously. I had a 2/4 on my rcsb nbs and hated the ride with no notch. With no notch you can't have a load in the bed more than 200lbs and even no load sucks. You will probably end up going 4/6 anyway. Any questions ask i know these trucks and different combinations very well.

You will like the notch, i dont have one yet but i need one, i want more travel.

In my experience its only neccesary if you do a 2/5 (removing the helper springs), Mine never had a problem unless I was haulin *** and hit a big bump in the road that all 4 tires hit (speed bumb, what have you), now without the springs its like I pull out of my drive way and it smacks. Do it if you plan on going lower or pull the helpers

i have heard from alot of people that you definately want to weld in a c-notch, they dont recommend just bolting it up...
