Talking Cal Trac guys stop in please

I just put them on yesterday, It seems the rear lock nut on the back driver side bar, hits the bracket a bit, anybody else have that prob.. Also seems that the bars could be bout half inch shorter, that would elim the prob with the nut hitting, at least in my case. Pass side almost hits the bracket, but doesn't, I pre loaded that side(pass) a tad more then the driver. As far as traction goes it helped to an extant on the street tires, but still can blow them off, but can tell there on. Can def feel them loading the springs when I stall it up, can stall it to ruff 2400 before the tires spin.. Tires and exhaust are the next on the list....

I had the same problem with the lock nut too. and yes, after a while I noticed the drivers side needs less pre-load as it pulled hard to the drivers side. I was blowing my Hankook Ventus tires off at any hint of acceleration but once I switched to the bf goodrich kdw g-force tires it it squats and pulls out a little to the side but no tire spinning unless i just flat out get on it then it is just all over the place.

your talking about the lock nut that goes furthest back on the caltracs bar right. If so I just took that one off and wrapped tape around it to keep it from moving.

That would be a fix, unfortunatley that wouldn't fly for me. I am going to take them off this weekend, machine about a half inch of of the back of each one, that will do the trick.. I am gald to see this is a lil tissy for more then just me. I was like WTF my luck right....

Thanks guys

I dunno if there is such a beast. I can probably have them machined down in a half hour..

I did not use the rear nut, just tighten the frt and go. I have ran them for about 3 years now, and never have had a issue with them moving. It is very difficult for them to loosen, there is no side to side movement, just foward? I did add to shims so I do not have to preload my Cal-Tracs, so the ride to track or around town is pleasent.
