Its pretty straight forward. Remove the rear leaf springs. You do need to chisel the outter ring off of the the stock leaf spring bushings and its much easier to use a press to press out the old and press in the new bushings. Then its easier to have a friend assist you setting the pre-load as you sit in the vehicle. Other than that its just a little time consuming.
Youll love em! I love mine, had them on my 02 and it was one of the first mods on my 05 VHO

Thanks. It seems like it is pretty straight foward but I always have the kind of luck that i tear the whole thing apart and and then I need just one more thing. I read another post where someone needed to grind down the spring mount but did not recall the year of the vehicle. How did you press out the bushing? will a hammer and chesel do the trick?

Truthfully both sets of CalTrax I've had, on my 2002 and now on my 2005 I purchased them directly from Calvert Racing in Lancaster California, I drove down to their shop, about an hour trip, and had them install them there. I did watch the install both times and they used a press to remove and install the bushings. It would be much easier that way but I'm sure the BIG hammer and chisel would work

Getting the bushing out of the leafs you gotta drill a millions holes on both sides until it collapses enough to get out.
Then you gotta press in the hard aluminum bushings....which is a **** in some instances. GET A BIG BENCH VISE.....you will love yourself for getting one if you ONLY JUST ONCE use it for the caltracs....
Not sure what you ahve done, but with all the power i make, the caltracs helped me put it to the ground so much better, AND no more wheel hop and cracked tranny housings!

Like I said, I always have "that" kind of luck. The aluminum bushings they sent are too big. I already drilled the **** out of one side and removed the bushing. If you eye-ball it it looks like it would fit but it is about 1/8" in dia too big. So, there she sits on jackstands and no ride for work in the morning!!!

they fit but the eye is a "sprng" so when you removed the bushing it caused the eye to get smaller, it will fit because if you look at the edge of the spring its rounded so as you begin to press them they will open up and accept the bushing
