Default Cal Tracs

Well, the Cal Tracs are not working as well as I thought they would. Sometimes they work good, and other times, not so well. I made them myself, but they are still made the same way as the original Cal Tracs. I did a test run today, and they still spun bad. What else can I do? The truck has to much power down low since the cam swap, and I need to fix that. I was thinking about some DR's, but for $550 bucks to run on the street all the time would get expensive. So is there something else that I can do to get traction? Here's a vid of the test. http://s96.photobucket.com/player.sw...fs=1&os=1&ap=1

They don't do much at all on the street, I was kinda disapointed. Time to try out a sticky tire for street use..

No, but who's going to heat up the tires on a street race?

Could always swap springs-shocks try that. Ima try and run a race style shock up front, for better weight transfer, see if it helps at all on the street..

you need tires bro, I cut 1.60's on them so far on stock suspension with 3.42 gears and 30" slicks.

Your probably not going to get any where w/o good DR's and I just out mine on for the track....I would not leave them on for daily driving.

I was thinking about lowering the truck, so I could do the shocks then. The stock tires on the SS's really suck. They seem soft and sticky, but they're not. I even have my tire pressure down to 22lbs. in the rear. Having traction problems is a good thing, kind of, but you could lose a race because of it. Unless I play catch up. The Cal Tracs work great at the strip, but not so good on the street sometimes. I think the temp. may have something to do with it. It's only 62* today in Vegas, so the streets may be kind of chilly.

I usually loosen them up for the street so it's not such a rough ride, and tighten them up at the track.

Vid didn't work for me. What size and brand of tire do you use on the street?
