mine looked like that but once I put it on the floor I was able to connect the rod. But i've got hangers an shackles. Or is it possible when they are loaded it'll hit?

Well i put it on the ground and it just rubs the tip of the overload spring.

You could try those leaf spring clamps, if they'll fit.

i had some but took them off. id rather just grind down on the spring.

Mine has been touching for 2 years.
My biggest problem with driving my truck is remembering to buy beer coming home from work before I pass into my dry town.
