Im wondering if I were to bet a built up 4l60e if I could request for them to make the gearing shorter? That way have alil more torque down low

I dont want to spend more than 1500 for a built tranny really. and the 4l80es gearing is taller so there goes that idea

No one makes anything to regear a 4L60E. They do make a lower 1st gear for the 4L80E tho.
How about telling us what truck you have and the mods.

call FLT or Performabuilt if you want a transmission that will last.
Goin cheap on a transmission usually cost you more in the end, ask me how i know

The 4L60Es 1st gear is plenty low the way it is. If you want lower then you will need to regear the differential(s).

Like said the 4L80E has different ratio planetaries available but unless the stockers are bad I couldn't see justifying the expense and really the stock 4L80E gearing is almost perfect. The 2.48:1 first isn't bad at all. I actually prefer it. I wish OD was more like .70:1 though but its ok.
