I have a Yank TT3000 Stall, and my dad (who is an old-school muscle car man) has been bitchin at me and tellin me it's gonna be a useless piece of crap afterwards. I won't be driving it everday and if i did, it'd only be for 20 miles max. My dad says "If you think you can daily drive a 3,000 stall you better think again, It'll make that truck useless!" By the number of people driving with them on here, I would think otherwise. I just want some other opinions besides from a man who thinks doing any kind of performance mods to a truck is stupid. Thanks guys!

You'll be fine. You've got 2 things in your favor over the old schoolers....lock-up converter and overdrive. A lot of F-body guys daily drive 4000 converters. Just invest in a good cooler to keep it cool, and get a tune for it, and you'll be set!

I know a guy that has a 03 lightning with a 3500 stall will all the bolt on's you can buy for it and a ported kennybell and he drives it everyday. He also pulled his ss camaro with it to a big drag strip in Montgomery. So yeh it will be fine but like rhino79 said make sure you get a good trans cooler and I wouldnt have one without a temp gauge either.

Many tt3000 owners are dd's. I had one for two years. No problems at all. Your dad is just old. P.s. Its not his fault, so take it easy on him!

it better be fine to daily drive. my TT3000 is getting installed as i post this message. i choose the TT3000 based on people's comments on here saying that it is great for daily driving.

Yank converters are 'tight' also. That means the vehicle will start rolling well before 3000rpms. My TT3000 was DD and no prob. I drive my truck back and forth to work every day with current setup too.

A good trans cooler is good advice.

I actually wish my TT3200HD was a little looser. You can't hardly tell that it has a converter in it.

I wonder why the transmission itself would make any difference? Maybe they set them up differently based on how they figure it will be used since most people w/ an 80-e are still going to tow stuff? I dunno, that is weird.
