I think it may have something to do with the weight of most of the vehicles the 80's go in... I'll be willing to bet that 95% of them are much heavier than you are...

I just bought a B&M 70274 Supercooler, do you guys think that'll be efficient? I know most people say the bigger, the better, but I got a really good deal on it and it had some good reviews, so I guess i'm going with it.

That's good ****...
You'll be fine with the TT3000. I've had mine opened up and still could use more. I still tow boats, 4-wheeler, utility trailers and whatever else. I don't tow them that often, but if I need to hook up to something I can. You'll love it for a DD. Goodluck

I've daily driven my Yank TT3000 for over 2 years, and I'm an old bastard too, sort of. I would never had thought it would perform as it does, and must admit, I had the same thoughts as your father is telling you when I first read about it here. I'm ready to either get a 4L80E or a built 4L65E, and I'll be going with a little less converter only because I'll be installing a Radix and I'm 2wd. A bunch of low end power and a 3000 converter with 2wd is a problem. If it weren't for that, I'd stick with the one I've got. I'm actually thinking about re-using it if I decide to go with the 65e.

not trying to mess up the thread, but, BAD, why would you chose a higher stall with the 65e rather than the 80e if you are worried about traction, because the shorter 1st gear in the 65 seems like you would want less stall in it, and more stall in the 80 to launch as well as you would in the 65 because of the 80's taller first gear

My truck is very easy to drive with the TT3000 in it. I have to say, at part throttle, it damn near acts like stock. Everybody was saying a 3000 stall will take some getting used because you have to give it more gas to take off - WRONG - this Yank isn't loose at all.
