Default Cant get 80e to shift after 80e swap

Put in a "rebuilt" 80e but it was in bad shape from the beginning. Currently have a FLT level 3 80e and yank billet 3200. Tuned with efi live, have had several people check out the tune and its ok.

But the thing wont hold in 4th (both trans had the same problem) as soon as it goes in flutter, it will free rev up 500 rpm or so and then catch and just repeat this. Just uninstalled the harness (03 gmc 2500 6.0 80e 2wd, cannot find a replacement to try thats not cut, anywhere) I replaced the 1 plug style connector for the neutral switch, i swapped on, with the 2 connectors to put it back to how it was when i got it. (there are 3 wires i found that dont cross with anything i have found so idk what they are but that might be later.)

It still has the same issue, i have no idea how to make it work.

ANY IDEAS?

Flutter? Not sure what you mean by this. Is this trans the same one that was originally in your truck and then rebuilt by FLT or a completely different unit? Are you getting codes for the prndl switch and also have you verified the actual gear being commanded when this happens? You might have to look at input and output rpms to verify what is really going on here. I had a similar issue with a unit and the main harness was not pinned correctly. The trans was actually downshifting when the customer thought that it was up shifting. Vince

I checked the wiring everything is correct (compared to 80e wiring pinouts). This was rebuilt by flt to a L3. It shifts to 4th. Then holds then it feels like it let's up and rpm goes up about 500 and then it grabs again. Then 2 seconds later it let's go (feels like it goes to neutral) and goes up in rpm then grabs.

I get no codes at all.

Double check that it isn't locking up in 3rd, then unlocking, shifting, and re-locking the converter.

Mine use to do this when i was trying to change the lockup in 4th..

Seems you cant set the 3rd gear lock up lower than the 3-4 upshift or you get some funny things happening.

You need to figure out where the 3 wires are suppose to go??? I would get a scanner and check your park/neutral switch function and make sure it's reading properly in ALL ranges. DO NOT drive it until you figure it out, otherwise you might hurt a perfectly good DYNO TESTED trans!
