Did you happen to get the part numbers for the rotors and calipers in the brochure for the 05+ 13" fronts?

Well, The police section in the catalog does not list a 1500 other than a HD.

I cross referenced my rotors and they are the Advanced technology. As for the calipers the police section does list a Tahoe. So.......

You may want to call them, (800-407-9263). There was little to no hold time and he was very informative and found data not on the public Webb site like the material of the pads I wanted. It looks like they merged some items.

Also they have some rotors that they call "Performance" that have some strange looking patterned grooves.

Keep in mind my numbers are for the 2005 "front disc/rear drum" setup.

Here Is a Link to The catalog After you choose your vehicle and hit search, be sure to use the "Back" button to look for other numbers. I kept closing the window requiring to load the vehicle again, Ugh, until I caught on.

How are they lasting? I tried the HPS pads on my previous set and while they had very good initial bite the ******* only lasted around 20k miles and were noisy. My truck is not that heavy, don't know why they went out that quick or maybe that's to be expected out of a performance pad.

I'm on Wagner thermoquiets now, initial bite is a tad less than the HPS but overall they're not that far behind, and it looks like they'll last longer. We'll see.

I usually don't keep vehicles long enough to wear out a set of replacement pads, so I can't say for sure. I checked them every time I rotated the tires, and they appeared to be wearing similarly to stockers. I have used them on a few friends vehicles, and they haven't worn out yet, but it has been less than 30k for them as well.

One thing I won't tolerate is pads that are excessively noisy. If they are noisy, they go in the trash, or back to the store. I didn't have any issues with HPS or LTS pads making excessive amounts of noise, but I always replace the abutment clips and make sure the pads move freely in the calipers. I have noticed that this makes a big difference.

Also, I do see Hawk makes a "Super Duty" pad for the NNBS trucks as well. I didn't see that available before. They claim "extremely high coefficient of friction"...Sounds enticing.

As far as brake noise goes we all know its the caliper piston to the back of the pad vibration doing it.
So according to pad material and what the MFG puts on the back of the pad or what we do @install is what we get.

I use Permatex Disc Brake Quiet spray on the backs no matter what pad I get, no matter how bold they advertize their so called quiet shims or coatings. The 1st thing I do is coat them so they are cured by the time I am ready for them. For the 35 years I have been using it I have had no brake pad noise and I have done my own brakes for that long.

Its tacky and you have to take your time and handle them carefully when loading them into the caliper to not make a mess but there will be no noise. And there is no mess to clean up when you go in again. It all stays on the pad and a tad is on the piston ring and easily wiped off.

When pad MFG's started advertizing the no noise coatings or shims I tried it once, just once and it failed. I pulled them off and coated them and it was gone.

Thanks for the link to the catalog. I found everything I need for the front upgrade but surprisingly they do not list a 'police' pad for the rear of my 01 Tahoe. I even did a part number search for what should be ATD834P and it came up empty. They do show a ATD834C ceramic pad but I don't' want to mix semi-metallic up front and ceramic in the rear. I am kind of digging the R-300 s-grove rotors though.

It will be a week or so. I'm going to go ahead and do it even though my currents are fresh. In the event I want to reverse I'll be ready.

I have Advanced Technology rotors on there already and a fresh set ready for the swap.

I'll let you know.
