Default Chevy lean shackle fix question

So I had the dreaded chevy lean on my 00ecsb. It was an inch lower on the drivers side. So today I moved the leaf to the 1" drop hole on the drivers side and left the pass side at 2" drop. My question is do I need to loosen the leaf clamps to the axle on the left side and let it re center. I never loosened them when I moved the leaf in the shackle.

I have the lean too, but it varies from day to day. Sometimes it will be 1.5" difference, sometimes both sides are almost even. I have a 1/2" lift block that goes between the axle and the leaf spring but haven't put it in yet. I thought this might be a better solution that using the shackle. Anyone have an answer to this?

Anyone else have a comment on using the shackle to "fix" the Chevy lean? Curious if it's better or worse than using a lift block.

That block that's mentioned in the service bulletin? Mine is level with that and a dead empty tank. Unfortunately, I have a 34 gallon tank.. Front is still different from side to side.

Yes it's that one, part number 15872655. I honestly don't think this block will raise it enough. I figure there would be a 1-to-1 correlation between the block thickness and how much it will raise it. Although it varies from day to day, my lean is almost always more than 1/2" even with an empty tank and no driver.

They have some 1/2 and 3/4 inch coil spacers that would work nicely with that block. The front seems to be more unbalanced weight wise than the back.

Well I did the lean fix with the shackle and it worked well. The left rear was about 3/4" lower than the right so I moved the spring down one hole on the shackle and that made both sides pretty darn even. This is with 1/2 tank of gas and no driver. But now the rear sits too high IMO, kind of has the raked look again. I think 1/2" lower would be perfect.
