There won't be a full second gained either way I can just about guarantee that, Unless there are other changes happening at the same time... The different trans will negate much of the gains of the converter... So I guess we will sit back and watch till then
And yeah, you are opinionated that's why I was trying to bring FACTS to light here
Anyway, enough of the whoring, I hope the OP gets what he's looking for.

Ok, some facts I just weighed all 3 I have.
stock 4l60 12"....46lbs
stock 4l80 13"....64lbs
Edge 9 1/2" 4l80...30lbs, but has no oil in it
My personal opinion on it, is it's gona be about a wash, but a much stronger setup. Might gain a little, but I wouldn't look for more then a tenth or two. probable will get some more MPH with the better gear spacing on the top end since you have a blower that peeks up there. Some of what you will gain with the higher stall on the bottom end, you were getting with the lower first gear of the 60e.

OK, I know this isnt my thread but heres the scoop. Just wieghed the stock 80e convertor in my garage with no fluid = 54.5lbs. Stock 60e with fluid = 48lbs. Circle D 258mm Billet triple disk= a lot lighter even picking it up 35-40lbs no fluid. Not saying that it is gonna get me a full second, but I do have a procharger and people with similar track speeds at 100mph in the 1/4 are running 12.8-13.1 or so. Also my times of 14 flat at 99 come with stock stall and my truck is pretty heavy. From a dead stop punch I cant spin the tires but after moving to about 30 or so I burn them down. Also many times from a roll on I have pulled from trucks that are around those times in the 1/4. Not saying it will I am just wishing. Oh btw there will be one more mod, 28in Hoosiers on stock 16in aluminum rims vs my 31in tires on 20 chevy bowtie chrome rims.

i figured i could add to this tread. I just order my street series 278mm at 3000k. Chris just shipped it today and the UPS shipping weight is 45lbs. I cant wait to get it in with my new trans and see what she can do!
Oh and thanks for all the help Chris. I would recommend Circle D to any one looking for a converter, service has been top notch with a good price too.

well I finally got the truck almost all buttoned up and all I can say is WOW! I still need to get an update for the tune but damn this thing pulls harder than ever. from a stop I can just feather the throttle and keep the tires smoking all I want. I now build over 6psi from brake stalling. major difference. And I can assure you I didnt loose anything from the 60e-80e swap. It feels more like a transmission should feel and I am sure I am faster from the stall.
