Str and efficiency are tricky.....a lot of people think the more str the better. That's great for a hard hit off the line, str is done after the first 60', its all about efficiency then. I am installing a pt4400 tomorrow or friday, and went with it because of how efficient it is and ther incredible shif extensions. Str eats up efficiency I believe because of the path the fluid must take to acieve that high str. That being said, it also depends on what stator blade and angle config it has as to how efficient it will be. So you may have 2 converters that stall the same (flash) but may be totally different animals on the topside. I've seen baby stalls 60' well, close to much latger stalls, but the extension of the shift was less than ideal for that particular combo. I was actually 15 mins away from buying a circle d 5c 4400 when I stumbled across my Pt4400 for 450. I can't remember the specs on the 5c but my yank is a 2.5 str, very efficient, shifts from 6200 should drop to about 5200 or so.

There is another verter company that is also good, they are a sponsor on tech.....fti converters. They are priced right too.

The cheaper ones are probably pretty similar, you have to remember the cheaper ones are just restalled factory converters from both companies as far as I know. The more expensive ones are where the quality and differentiation comes from. I know yank is a very good converter company, and circle d is very well respected for his high end converters, which is who I went with for my triple disk 80e converter.

I liked the Circle D stall better. I really like my multi disc 4c. Drives like my SST3600, but performance is a lot better!
