Default Control Arm Brackets

I've got a 2000 Silverado that I bought for cheap a few months back and I'm finally getting around to doing some suspension work on it and correcting all of the wrongs that were done when the truck was originally lowered.

The front suspension is done with DJM Calmax control arms. Noticed that the bolts where the control arms mount on the truck have basically widened out the holes due to (or at least I'm guessing at this) not being tightened down correctly.

Anybody ever had this problem? I considered stitch welding new plates on the face over the original holes just to keep the heat down so i don't have to worry about the frame getting weak. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

dang that sucks about the egg shaped holes

you can probably get away with that and just run a longer bolt if you have to

have you looked into going to a junk yard and cutting the oem ones off to replace yours?

I've considered that a bit. Thought about building some custom ones as well.

I was more scared about welding on the frame. Figured it might weaken the area around there doing all that cutting and welding. Might still be able to pull that off though.
