converter installed
yesterday i installed yank 2600 everything went well. but the converter drives like stock maybe its just me or the more i drive the more it will loosen up. I havent brake stall or flash stall yet untill i get 150 miles like yank suggest. I just dont want to do all that work for nothing. another thing do you have to tune for the converter.

I have the same convertor in my truck.Honestly, it does drive like stock...which is what i wanted.Unless you drop the hammer its a stock driving truck with the Yank thats why i went with it.
If you gas on it trust me it will shoot to 2600rpms like it is supposed to.
I also didn't have to get my truck tuned for the 2600...unless you want to change your lock up points.I left mine stock at 40mph lockup works great.

I have a 4k stall converter and under part throttle it feels just like stock. It will slowly rev from 2k rpms up to whatever part throttle shift point. On the freeway it cruises at 2k rpms. When you mash the pedal that's when you'll see the higher stall. Mine will flash to 4500 rpms (my max torque rpm) and go no lower through the shifts.
You don't tune for a converter, you buy a converter for your tune. (Unless you're changing shift rpms or lock-up and consider that part of tune.) For example, if you're max torque is at 3k rpms, you wouldn't want a converter that stalls higher and misses the torque peak.

Getting the shift points set up correctly can be just as big of a difference in performance as the stall itself. I had to raise the fuel/spark cutoff on mine a few hundred RPM as the converter flashed just a bit between shifts and bumped the rev limiter (especially on down hill entrance ramps, which it didn't do before).
