The converter on my 4l80e is broke after only 2 short months. The good news is that is is covered under warranty. I dont want to put just a stocker back in there, so I am looking at 2 options.

1) - Let the local transmission build me a converter using TCS products w/ a 2 year warrany. All billet internals for $750.00 with a steel stator. Here is a link to the TCS website:

http://www.tcsproducts.com/

2) Buy a Precision Industries triple disk converter for about $1000.00.

Id just get the PI, but thats just my $.02. I got tired of breaking tranny **** and went with a FLT and Fuddle converter. I believe Fuddle and Yank also have 80 converters that would be a little more finacially friendly

I would go with the Precision Industries unit. Mine works like a charm. Have heard nothing but good from Fuddle units, Yank has been around a long time, I've heard good and bad about them. I would go these options before any local shop.

Precision Industries it is. 10.5" triple disk.

Now, what stall speed? Im thinking 2600 rpm, but definately not more than 2800 rpms.

Considering the 80e/60e 1st gear ratio differences I would probably opt for 2800 in the 4l80e. I love the 2600 in mine.
